Drunk driving charges filed against two state DFL leaders

Two state DFL leaders have been charged with drunk driving.

The DFL Party's executive director, Corey Day, allegedly hit two parked cars in Minneapolis in December and faces two gross misdemeanor charges, the AP says. Police reports indicate his blood alcohol concentration was 0.19, much higher than the state's legal limit of 0.08.

And state Rep. Thomas Huntley, a veteran DFL lawmaker from Duluth, told the Duluth News Tribune that he was arrested Feb. 2 for drunk driving near Deerwood, in the Brainerd area, where he has a cabin. He said he was tested at 0.083 and will plead guilty.

"I just wanted the people of Duluth to know," he told the paper. "I’m very sorry."
