Former GOP Senate candidate Kurt Bills endorses Scott Honour for governor

Scott Honour's GOP campaign for governor of Minnesota got a boost Wednesday from Kurt Bills, the Republican who lost the U.S. Senate race last year.

Bills tweeted this afternoon that he and his wife, Cindy, are supporting Honour, the Orono businessman seeking the GOP endorsement to run against incumbent Gov. Mark Dayton in 2014.

The couple also made a YouTube video in support of the H0nour campaign.

Said Bills in the video: "We're going to need Scott's skills to correct the incredible overreach of Mark Dayton and the Democratic party."

Bills, a former state House member, lost to Sen. Amy Klobuchar in November by more than a 2-1 margin.

Besides Honour, a former private equity firm manager, other announced Republicans in the gubernatorial race are: Hennepin County Commissioner Jeff Johnson, state Sen. Dave Thompson and state Rep. Kurt Zellers.
