Gov. Mark Dayton has appointed Michael Wentzell to a vacant judgeship in Carver County, replacing Judge Phillip Kanning, who retired earlier this year.
Wentzell, currently the chief deputy Carver County attorney, will be based in Chaska.
Wentzell has worked with the Sexual Assault Interagency Council, Carver County Justice Advisory Council and Chaska Rotary Club, and he's a former professional responsibility ethics investigator.
